Thank lolz - Darth Maul's use of force lightning clarified

In a stimulating discussion on "Wookieepedia," the Star Wars-themed wiki, user Jedi Kasra makes a specious claim on an important question: was minor Star Wars character Darth Maul capable of using dark force energy to shoot lightning out of his hands, as the Emperor does in the end of Return of the Jedi?

According to Star Wars Insider #93 on pg. 57, there's no reason to believe that Maul didn;t use lightning. Also, Gentle Giant has released a bust of Maul with his saberstaff and Force lightning coming out of his left hand. I think this is enough evidence to put him on the list of Force lightning users on the respective article, but I could be wrong.--Jedi Kasratalk) 16:51, 18 June 2008 (UTC) (

Is a shitty bust you can buy at Target enough to confirm a minor Star Wars character's potential for magical powers in a universe that doesn't exist?

Has the bust been confirmed as a Canon item? Darth Xadún(Consult the Holocron) 07:29, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh, snap. For those of you who aren't mentally ill, Canon means officially sanctioned Star Wars lore endorsed by Star Wars creator and defiler George Lucas. This includes the movies and all sorts of comics and video games and such The other stuff is made up Star Wars crap that Lucas isn't making money on, I'm guessing.

While the legitimacy of the bust is a pertinent question, Darth Newdar shuts down the conversation with some much needed rationality.

He never actually does in any book or film, so you can't say he definitely did. On the other you can't say he never did use Force Lightning. Darth Newdar 15:09, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

There you have it, the keepers of the gates of knowledge of stuff that isn't in one of the 6 movies seem to have come to a conclusion: we can't tell if Darth Maul ever used force lightning, but maybe he could've! If only we were dealing with a fantasy world where you could make up whatever the fuck you wanted.

So, in case you were wondering, 45 seconds on Wookieepedia yields some serious , if not troubling, lolz.  I also invite BoL users to vandalize this site.

A disclaimer: I do know what kind of droid R2-D2 is off the top of my head, so I am far from innocent of lolzing all over Star Wars.  But I think we can all agree that this Wookieepedia shit is totally beyond sane.

Also, I found this Darth Maul and Jedi fighting as horses picture on Google:

I do remember that force lightning was a skill that you received towards the end of Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight (which IS Canon). Because Darth Maul was only an apprentice, I think he probably was not skilled enough in the dark side to be able to perform force lightning.

Also, it seems like he probably had to invest a lot of skill points into his sabre skills in order to be able to wield a 2H lightsabre. It's hard to imagine him being able to invest in lightning also
