LOL day moved out of respect, now pro-Nazi

Earlier today, lol-mecca site icanhascheezburger.com declared that "LOL day" would be July 7, or 7/07 (get it?)  Now, upon realizing that 7/7 was the date of the 2005 London bombings, they have moved it to August 8, which the banners trumpet as "8/8."  8/8 not only doesn't spell anything in l33t speak, (or am I not getting it?) but it also looks like the number 88, which is a common neo-Nazi code.  The number was involved in one the lolziest events in the history of corporate douchbaggery, in which "trend spotters" for retail giant Target apparently saw some hip young key demographic members (who turned out to be neo-Nazis) wearing shirts that had the number 88. They decided that must be a "cool" number, and put it on a bunch of t-shirts to try sell to suburban kids.  Lol.  So, in sum, ICHC, by trying not to offend anyone, now loves Hitler.  And the new day doesn't even look like "LOL" upside down.  ICHC could fix the problem by simply saying "August 8" instead of continuing to feature the numbers so prominently, but I think this incident illustrates the silliness of walking on eggshells trying not to offend anyone.  Overall, this is balls.
