The NYT had this piece yesterday, about Obama's support of corn ethanol. Corn ethanol is major, major balls. It takes more energy to produce it than it yields - that right there makes it manifestly, inarguably, unmistakably balls. Ethanol also plays a role in driving up food prices - the price of pandering to corn farmers in Iowa is thus starving poor people. Seeing a politician I otherwise like embrace this blindingly stupid idea is really balls, and I am sad.

ben, definitely balls to that. it really sucks that he is doing this basically so he can get the farmer vote in the midwest. he is supposed to be the change candidate, and this seems like more of the same old bullshit. hopefully this is an isolated incident and not a sign of things to come.
